The role of the leader is to guide those who follow him in a direction that is beneficial to all, shared, a goal that represents a source of stimulation for every person involved in the journey.
His job is to set the course and put everyone in the condition of traveling in the best possible way because in the eyes of the true leader the journey counts as much as the destination. To be a leader we must keep in mind the importance of the example: we know that people learn much more from seeing something rather than just hearing it explained, which means that the leader cannot limit him to just giving instructions, but must himself, first of all, put into practice what he says. This is connected to the characteristic of the integrity of a leader that represents a fundamental point if not essential to achieve good leadership. Credibility is, for any leader, a fundamental component: leadership itself is based on it, on the reliability we have in the eyes of others. No one who is devoid of this peculiarity can truly be a leader.
Usually, it is the labels, the roles and the positions that define our power over others: we are parents, managers, professionals or experts, older brothers, old people, and so on.
- We use these labels to ensure that others do, under certain circumstances, what we ask them to do.

Consistency is the pivot on which our credibility rests, and must be understood in a very broad sense: whatever we say we do we must do it, if we believe in something we must prove it with facts, if we believe a certain type of behavior is right, we must be the best example available .
